We need housing, but not a 23-story high-rise

We need housing, but not a 23-story high-rise

As someone who cares about all the communities that make up our wonderful city, I strongly urge you to oppose the building of a proposed 23-story high rise on Turquoise Street.

Like many San Diegans, I recognize the affordable housing crisis we face. However, a 23-story tower with 139 hotel units, multi-million-dollar luxury condos, and only five affordable housing units is not the answer for young people and others desperately seeking housing.

We need more housing. We don’t need a 23-story tower that masquerades as an affordable housing remedy but offers only five affordable housing units among its 213 planned units!

Please do everything in your power to stop this deceitful project. Please work with state representatives to amend the loopholes in the legislation that allowed this project to be proposed. Now more than ever we need your leadership to do what is best for San Diego.

Thank you.
